about The True Democracy Project
The True Democracy Project is a non-partisan effort focused on restoring
true majority rule and
equal voter power in the United States.
We do this by explaining, demonstrating, and advocating for clear structural improvements to our electoral system.
Our Principles
- Every election should require a true majority—50% + 1.
- No candidate should win because the majority split its vote.
- Every voter should have equal power in deciding the outcome.
- Reform should be simple, transparent, and non-partisan.
What We Do
- Provide accessible explanations of how U.S. elections work now.
- Show how outdated rules distort majority rule.
- Offer clear proposals based on fairness and equal representation.
- Use the IL-9 race as a real-world case study of system failure.
- Produce videos, articles, Q&A pages, and documentary content.
Why It Matters
- Plurality winners can take office with less than half of voter support.
- Large fields of candidates can distort outcomes and silence majorities.
- When representation breaks, governance suffers for everyone.
- Majority rule is not partisan — it is democratic first principles.
Our Commitment
- Non-partisan approach
- Plain-language explanations
- Open to research and public dialogue
- Independent from campaigns, parties, and advocacy groups
